Guitarist | Composer | Teacher
Leon Muhudinov is a guitarist-composer-teacher based in NJ and the greater NYC area. Described as an “artist worthy of well earned name recognition” and one of the most versatile guitarists around by 20th Century Guitar Magazine, he can be heard performing classical guitar, boom chick, world music, progressive rock, and more.
Leon and his group, Adventures of Leonid, were recently featured on A Tribute to Eddie Van Halen album alongside members of Journey, DIO, Aerosmith, and more. Adventures of Leonid also recorded a rendition of “I’m Going Slightly Mad” for The Many Faces of Queen, an album featuring recordings by Queen and Smile, as well as covers of their songs. Other recent recordings include Three Odd Numbers, a Halloween-themed release with arrangements of thriller and horror film music by Herrmann, Carpenter, and Morricone.
An eclectic musician and composer, Leon writes music in a wide range of styles. Inspirations include: George Glock, Tom Doyle, Tarrega, Satie, John Williams, Julian Bream, Paul Galbraith, Chet Atkins, Phish, Steve Morse, Brian May, Slash, Jeff Beck, 70s prog rock, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, and various folk music from around the world.
Leon’s 2003 solo album, Tasty Guitar Treats, combined classical, new age, and country-jazz influences; an assortment of originals, and popular covers by the Beatles, Chet Atkins, and Scott Joplin. He later formed The Adventures of Leonid, an instrumental group featuring a rotating lineup of friends and musicians on various projects. The Adventures of Leonid and the Daydreamers self-titled debut was released in 2005 on Mad Hands Records and features veteran drummer, Mad Mike Cullens (Chuck Berry, Mick Taylor). Combining elements of rock, classical, funk, surf, and Eastern melodies, journalist Dmitry Epstein called it “a highly enjoyable record of rare elegance.”
Leon has contributed music to films concerning animal rights, environmental, and humanitarian issues. In 2011, he was featured as a composer for Project Oliver, a series to build improved spaces for rescued primates such as Oliver, "the missing link" chimpanzee. Film credits include The Other Man: F.W. de Klerk and The End of Apartheid and Talking Eyes Media documentary, Under Cane, for National Geographic. He also performed for the Global Human Rights Torch Relay and Edison Wetlands restoration benefit.

Passionate about sharing the gift of music, Leon maintains a busy schedule of private guitar lessons throughout Bergen County, NJ. He teaches online, virtual guitar lessons to students in NJ, NY, CO, WA, and more. As a guitar teacher and mentor, he enjoys helping dedicated guitarists overcome challenges so they can grow as musicians, and experience the joy of their own music journey...
